Yamaha 431 t trumpet

Recently bought a Yamaha 431 t trumpet from Shopgoodwill.com.  Do like the sound, but now I have the urge to buy a Bach Megatone for this trumpet. Probably will change the 1st slide trigger to a thumb saddle. Other than age what is the difference between this trumpet and the Yamaha 4335 trumpet? What has been your experience of using a Bach Megatone or Denis Wick Heavytop on your Yamaha trumpet?

The Yamaha trumpets that are 3 digits are the earlier versions of the 4 digital model numbers.  The three digit models ie 431, 631 etc are from the 70s- early 80s I believe.  Good trumpets, buy Yamaha has continued to improve (and reduce costs) of the current models including 2320, 4000 series, 6000 series.

how does it play?

Sounds was OK. Thought it had a flat sound. Tried different mouthpieces, have slide out further. Still wasn't happy with the sound. Brought to a lesson, teacher verified it was flat. Sold the trumpet on ebay. Finally bought two Getzen professional trumpets. Renaissance and a Canadian Brass trumpet. Decided to keep the Canadian Brass trumpet, easier to play, likes different mouthpieces. Made a profit on selling the renaissance.
